Samsung rekindle and Rebrand Note following the disaster of 2016

The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphone brand name was damaged following problems with the battery

Following the problems with batteries on the Galaxy Note 7 smartphone, Samsung is not working on improving the brand and it’s damage limitation efforts.
They are offering owners of the recalled device in South Korea an upgrade to a Galaxy S8 or Note 8 device next year. Also they will have to trade in their Note 7 for a Galaxy S7 now.
Also our source claims that anyone who opt for the upgrade program will only need to pay half the price of a Galaxy S7 in order to exchange to an S8 or Note 8 next year.
As Reuters notes, Samsung’ offer shows that they are not intending to retire the Note brand name for good, despite it now being associated with problematic batteries and exploding smartphones.
Current Samsung are yet to identify the cause of the battery overheating problem, which affected some replacement Note 7 devices as well as a number of other Samsung devices.
Samsung’s presumption is that brand loyalty to the Note can begin at home with the possibility of extending the offer to other markets including within UK and Europe.
The UK and European upgrade program’s availability will be dependent on the situation in each country, according to Reuters. Presumably the company will be doing the appropriate analysis to figure out the best option regarding expanding the offer.
